EDC Update- May 27th

Oki! Tansi! Hello!

We hope everyone had a long weekend, and we were happy to see even more of our children back on Monday. We have had a great week in EDC playing and learning. Here are some photos of our week:

Our big project this week was to We create our own unique insects!

First, we used rollers, toothbrushes and paintbrushes to paint paper in various colours and patterns:

We  explored real images of insects using photos and books throughout the week and used these images for our artistic inspiration:

We were ready to create! We had to use our scissor skills, our gluing skills and our imaginations:

Another project we worked on this week was to create butterfly wings to turn us into beautiful butterflies. This project required us to use our colouring skills and our muscles to spray some water to watch the colour spread:

Just a reminder that registration for transportation/bussing for next year is currently taking place and will end on June 10th. Please log on to your CBE account in order to register. If you do not register by the 10th, there could be a large delay in bussing service for your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please phone Charmaine in the front office.

Thank you!

Niitsitapi EDC Update

 Oki! Tansi! Hello!

Although many students are learning at home, us in EDC continue to explore learning and play at school. We have enjoyed this opportunity to explore more areas of the school, both inside and outside. Here are some photos of our time the past week.

Exploring the outdoor classroom and outdoor gardens.

Helping Ms. Jessica make smudge packages for students.

                                 More outdoor learning and exploration.

When exploring our outdoor learning spaces, here are some of the observations made my students:

"I can hear the rocks crunching under my feet."
"I can see the sage."
"I can hear the birdies chirping."
"I can feel the wind blowing in my hair."
"I can feel the sun warm on my face."

We are looking forward to more learning and play adventures this week.
Have a great week.
The EDC Team
